MY TOP 3 PRIORITIES
01
Community Infrastructure

Why
intelligent
transit
Matters to Me:
TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION
Safer streets.
Smarter planning.
Having lived in rural communities as well as Vancouver and Toronto, Martine and I have experienced have relied on various ways of getting around: walking to work, cycling, taking public transit and, of course, driving. We’ve seen what happens when infrastructure keeps pace with growth, and the frustration that results when it doesn’t.
Safe streets are also personal
to me. I was involved in a cycling accident while riding home from work, an experience that changed the way I think about how we share our roads. Pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and public transit all need to coexist safely, while still allowing people and traffic to move efficiently through our community.
As Ward 3 continues to grow, I want to bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to traffic and transportation: advocating for safer streets, better traffic flow and infrastructure that is planned alongside growth, not years after it.

03
Connected
Generations

This priority is especially personal to me. Martine dedicated 20 years of her career to elementary education, and through her experiences I’ve seen how important strong communities are to children, educators and families. My own career has also given me the opportunity to teach and mentor young people as a part-time college professor, and I’ve seen the extraordinary potential that can be unlocked when young people are encouraged and given opportunities.
At the other end of the spectrum, our seniors bring decades of knowledge, experience and community history that we should be drawing upon, not overlooking. My own parents now in their 80’s and after 62 years of marriage, are an endless vault of wisdom and inspiration.
I believe a strong Ward 3 should be a place where young people can grow and build their futures, where families feel supported, and where seniors can remain active, connected and valued. Good communities don’t focus on one generation at the expense of another; they bring generations together.

Green Spaces
Matters to Me:
My appreciation for parks and green spaces comes from a lifetime of enjoying the outdoors. I grew up in a rural community near Stratford, and later lived in Alberta and British Columbia, where camping, skiing and spending time outdoors became an important part of my life.
Today, serving on the Ontario Parks Board of Directors has given me an even greater appreciation for the responsibility we have to protect natural spaces while making them accessible and enjoyable for people.
My wife, Martine, and I chose Stouffville in part because it offers something increasingly rare: the convenience of a growing community surrounded by beautiful countryside and green space.
I want to help protect that balance while ensuring Ward 3’s parks, playgrounds and recreational spaces continue to improve as our community grows.
